The Palomino Lounge is a local bar lounge that has been a fixture of the community for several decades. Over the years, the facility has been modified, repaired and adjusted to fit the décor of its time and had been last renovated in the 1970’s. The owner, with the help of the St. Louis Development Corporation and the local Alderman, developed a plan to renovate the exterior of the structure to bring it back to its original historic glory. This involved removing all exterior modifications that were not part of the original building, and carefully preserving existing character details such as the original cast iron and wood cornice work. The scope also included recreating the original window frames and wood paneling at the main entry. The restoration of the façade has delightfully complemented the existing, established streetscape.
